VINTAGE vehicles will take people back on a nostalgic journey to yesteryear when North and East Dartmoor Working Society hold a ploughing competition and working day this weekend.

A varied entry of vintage and classic tractors, stationary engines, steam engines and full and miniature rollers, as well as the ploughing competition will give visitors a taste of a time when life?s pace was a little slower.

The event takes place this Sunday at Gooseford, near Whiddon Down on the old A30, gates open 2pm.

Weather permitting, a reed combing demonstration will be undertaken at various points during the day.

Last year?s hugely successful event allowed the club to make a donation towards the appeal for a new ambulance for St John Okehampton. This year, organisers hope to be able to make a donation to BBC Radio Devon?s Chestnut Appeal.

Refreshments will be available and there will be a selection of stands and displays. Trade entries are still welcome, any enquiries to Mr Yelland on 01392 273386.
