PREPARATIONS for the annual Sticklepath Fireshow are well underway and as ever the help of the local community is needed to make the unique event happen.

The bonfire and fireworks spectacular is one of the largest community arts events in the South West and draws thousands of spectators each November 5.

The organisers will be pleased to hear from anyone who can spare some time to help collecting wood, making props or constructing the stage set. Stout footwear and gloves are essential.

There are also plenty of opportunities for youngsters to get involved in the preparations.

Fireshow workshops start on Monday, October 25 in Sticklepath Village Hall.

Children who would like to attend during half-term week will be welcome but must come along with a parent or guardian to register on the Monday morning.

Workshops will run from 10am to 4pm. For further details call 01837 840334.
