TAMAR Valley Methodist Church in Albaston will be in the limelight next month, when the Showtime Academy arrives in the village.

In the Wings Theatre Company will be running a week-long performing arts workshop, aimed at ten to 16-year-olds eager to put their talents up on the stage.

Company director Morag Stolton said: 'Throughout the week we will look at different songs from the last six decades, including musicals, together with different complimentary dance styles.

'This will be a great chance to meet new friends and learn the importance of working together to create the sights and sounds that will wow an audience.'

The workshop will run from 10am to 5pm between Monday August 20 and Friday, August 24, with a grand finale planned for the Friday evening.

Morag said: 'All that rehearsing, learning lyrics and dance routines will pay off with a public performance at the end of the week — a show not to be missed!'
