PRIMARY school pupils in the Okehampton area will be able to get active and take advantage of a programme of top sports coaching which begins this week.
The sessions are made possible thanks to a partnership between OCRA, West Devon Borough Council and the nationwide Active Sports scheme.
The programme is aimed at Year Five and Six primary school pupils and offers specialist training in six sports ? netball, squash, basketball, hockey, table tennis and tennis.
The schools taking part in the scheme are the primary schools in Okehampton, North Tawton, South Tawton, Hatherleigh, Lewtrenchard and Chagford.
Stuart Lord of OCRA says the scheme will also build links with local sports clubs so youngsters can continue to play any sport they particularly enjoy after the Get Active sessions are completed.
A ten-week Active Sports course offering netball coaching for Year 7, 8 and 9 students is also available.
The course runs on Saturday mornings from 10am-12noon at Okehampton College, starting on September 27.
