THANKS to the kind and generous people of Tavistock and Mary Tavy, I have been able to collect 94 typewriters for the Milton Margai School for the Blind, Freetown, Sierra Leone.

My grateful thanks in particular go to the parish churches of St Eustachius Tavistock, St Mary?s Mary Tavy, St Peter?s School, Tavistock Primary School, Operation Sunshine and St Luke?s Hospice (Plymouth). Also, to St Eustachius Church for the gracious donation for the supply of typewriter ribbons.

The typewriters will be shipped to Freetown on January 7 2003.

Lastly, please spare a thought this Christmas for these underprivileged children who have been blinded at birth or through illness, or as a result of the eleven year civil war.
