FESTIVAL funding is being looked into to make last month's hugely successful party in the park and Edwardian fete in Okehampton an annual event.
The collaboration between community arts organisation the Wren Trust, Okehampton Town Council and Okehampton Arts Festival Committee to mark the re-dedication of Simmons Park and the end of arts week resulted in a spectacular day of entertainment for the whole family.
Such has been the reaction from all quarters that enthusiasm is mounting for a repeat performance.
The Wren Trust has indicated that it would like to be involved again and chairman of the Okehampton Arts Festival Alan King has suggested making an application to the Barclays Regeneration Fund which funds festival-style events.
Okehampton Town Council agreed this week that the idea merited further investigation and was supportive in principle, but it would depend on the financial implications.
