THE Meadows Makeover group held a successful fun day on Sunday, August 16, to celebrate the redevelopment of the park.

The event, held during National Cream Tea Week, was opened by Tavistock mayor, Sue Bailey, and fanfares by the Stannary Brass Band.

A range of musicians including the Saxophonics, Virginia Rich, The Tamar Valley Rock School, Lorraine Live, Ukulele Tuesdays and Sky Walkers Lite also performed at the event.

Demonstrations of Tae kwondo and a giant bubble show were there to entertain children, alongside fun activities including a bouncy castle and old fashioned carousel.

Meadows group organiser Mia Holman said: ‘It was really amazing, about 500 people turned up.

‘People were telling me they wished it was a monthly event! Ages ranged from new born babies to 90-year-olds, there really was something for everyone.’
