IF you are a carer and live in the Sampford Courtenay area, there is an opportunity for you to have some fun at a free two-day event being planned on May 1 and 15 at the Countryman Inn. Carers will be able to join a workshop group that will be looking at how they can be heard, get their own way and make a difference for themselves and other carers. It will be a chance to forget about the responsibilities that carers have day-to-day and to concentrate on themselves for a change. On the second day the group will be building on their ideas and thinking about what they want for themselves in the future. Lunch and refreshments will be provided and there will be lucky dip prizes and financial help towards travel and respite costs. Places are limited so early booking is recommended.
