VISITORS to Tavistock Pannier Market tomorrow (Friday) will be doubly happy to get not only a free energy efficiency health check for their home, but also a free low energy light bulb for their trouble. Staff from the Devon Energy Efficiency Advice Centre will be at the pannier market all day to help people find out how they can save energy and money at home, and will be giving away free energy saving light bulbs to all visitors who complete the home energy questionnaire. Residents of West Devon will also be able to find out more about the Warm Up West Devon scheme, run by the Devon EEAC in partnership with West Devon Borough Council and other partners. Under the Warm Up scheme householders and private tenants can get cavity wall insulation and loft insulation at very low prices. It?s completely free of charge to anyone receiving an income related benefit. Warm Up West Devon can also offer two free low energy light bulbs, a benefits health check, a door chain and mirror entry system, and a free smoke alarm. West Devon Care and Repair will also be at the pannier market to promote the West Devon Handyperson Service, available to people who are disabled or over the age of 60. The handyperson can carry out small repairs or minor jobs around your home. They also fit the door chains and mirrors available under the Warm Up scheme. Home security advice will be on hand from West Devon Neighbourhood Watch.
