PRINCETOWN-based charity South West Equine Protection is appealing for cash to pay for medical treatment for four injured moorland foals.
Approximately £700 is needed to pay for an operation for a foal called Drummer, and X-rays for another, named Sampson, and two others.
Drummer was in collision with a car on Dartmoor and ruptured his stomach, and the three others also collided with vehicles and need X-rays to see if their legs are broken.
Maureen Rolls, the charity?s chairman, said it had been a bad year for foals and the amount needed was a tremendous sum for a small charity. The final figure would not be known until the result of the X-rays had been received.
