IS it a farce? Is it a comedy? Is it a murder mystery? The Tavonians Theatre Company ? to be known for one week only as the Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen?s Guild Dramatic Society ? brings the ever popular and hilarious show The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen?s Guild Dramatic Society Production of Murder at Checkmate Manor to Tavistock ? and it must be seen to be believed! The Tavonians originally started to rehearse this show some 20 years ago but had to abandon it following an accident to one of the cast. It features 12 characters played by just five of the Tavonians? most talented, versatile and experienced actresses (pictured). Their past work includes theatre, radio and television. In addition to their acting skills, most of the cast have wide experience of directing but on this occasion have agreed to allow themselves to be directed by the only man in the show?s company. Stuart Waterworth has a wealth of experience in directing professional and amateur casts and will be remembered most recently for Oh! What a Lovely War. He says this is by far the funniest show he has directed and looks forward to full houses for the four nights of the production. The company is delighted to have secured the sponsorship of Mike Hooper Architects, Condy Mathias Financial Planners and Chartered Accountants and the Original Pasty House. The show can be seen at the Wharf from Wednesday November 28 to Saturday December 1. Tickets are available from the box office on 01822 611166.
