A TAVISTOCK student nurse came first over the finish line in a fun run for St Luke's Hospice's Reindeer Rally.

Kirsty Smith dressed as an elf to run the 1.5km in Central Park in Plymouth to help raise money and awareness for the charity.

Kirsty said: 'It was really good fun.

'It was a bit cold to start with but I soon warmed up.

'St Luke's is such a great cause and I am proud to be doing my bit to help them.

'As a student nurse based out of Derriford Hospital, I think the end of life care that St Luke's Provides is amazing and could be an area I would like to specialise in once I'm qualified as a nurse.'
