A CAPACITY crowd enjoyed a spectacular Sticklepath Fireshow on Monday night.

The weather was cold but clear for the Okehampton area's major Guy Fawkes night event. As well as the firework display, visitors got to enjoy this year's show, entitled 'Bamboozled'. As always, Guy Fawkes went on a wonderful adventure, this time to a floral Japanese garden, which held a dark secret. As always, the story was kept top secret until the night, and as with tradition, Guy ended up in flames on the bonfire.

The show was staged thanks to the support of the village community, including children who donned costumes to take part. Behind the scenes, up to 200 locals played their part in making the show a great success.

The event at the National Trust's Finch Foundry field attracts 3,000 visitors each year.

The event has seen rising costs in recent years, with the event costing up to £15,000.

Thanks to support from local businesses and fundraisers, it has managed to go ahead once more.
