IT?S fashion time in Sticklepath next month and budding designers or models can get involved in the summer workshops and fashion show. Sticklepath Fireshow will be hosting a re-run of last year?s successful summer workshops and fashion show at the end of August. The events will offer something a little different to do this summer and are open to young and old alike. The summer workshops get underway on Monday, August 21, culminating in the fashion show on Saturday, August 26. Janice Goodwin from the fireshow committee said: ?The workshops through the week will be where people can come along to find all the help, materials and inspiration they need to join in, whether they wish to take part in the Saturday?s fashion show, or simply have a fun day out. ?The event is open to anyone at all in the Okehampton area who would like to have a go, including adults of any age, and you can come all week, just for a day or only for an hour or two, and even enter the fashion show without coming to the workshops.? The event will cover most of the techniques and materials used for the real fireshow, so there will be chances galore to design, build and display your own puppets, masks, costumes and clothing. West Devon Borough Council combined with a generous anonymous donation from within the village have ensured the event can be put on again in the Foundry Field by kind permission of Roger Boney and the team at Finch Foundry. Children under ten will need to be accompanied by an adult, while older children and teenagers can come unattended, but please note that due to child protection issues there is a need to have a registration form filled out, either in advance or at the start of the first session, by a parent/guardian. Booking is recommended as places are limited and these events are always popular. To find out more details please contact Hilary Gillespie or Dave Goodwin on 01837 840334.
