Cullompton Colts 20 Okehampton Colts 5 OKEHAMPTON Colts played Cullompton away in a tense, closely fought match. The league leaders were on good form and sucked in the Okehampton defence before spinning wide using the overlap. Their second try came just before half time to stretch their lead to 10-0 at the break. Okehampton replied with a try from Mark Shields with quick ruck ball and slick hands from Chris Searle giving the scoring pass. Simon Bennett and Mike Young worked hard in the loose to provide ball for their backs but Cullompton were too good at slowing possession and scored a converted try and penalty to lead 20-5 and, despite soaking up continued Okehampton pressure the score remained the same. Mark Shields is now going to the southern hemisphere during his gap year and has played his last Colts game. Members wished him a happy and safe journey.
