A WEST Devon community centre is launching an exciting and affordable new scheme for the whole family this weekend. Hatherleigh Community Centre is screening a film for all the family during the Easter holidays. On Saturday, April 12 the centre will be screening the award winning animation 'Surf's Up'. The centre hopes to have a different community cinema film choice every four to six weeks and this month it has gone for a family film. Centre manager Rosie Bradbury said: 'At £10 for a family of four it is a bargain. The main hall is transformed with a big screen and tiered seating for a real cinema theatre effect. 'We've even got tubs of local ice cream, free refill cola and lots and lots of popcorn, although juice and slices of fruit will be available for a healthier option. 'It's a trial showing this Easter as the centre is keen to offer more films and activities for all the family over the summer holidays.' The centre hopes to attract the whole family and believes Surf's Up will appeal across the board. The cinema box office opens at 2pm for a 2.30pm showing.
