OKEHAMPTON U3A is mounting its first exhibition this month, which will show displays from all the groups run by the branch, to demonstrate what they are about.

There will also be paintings, photographs, sculptures and embroidery created by members, some of which will be for sale.

U3A is a self-help organisation, providing educational, recreational and social opportunities for all those no longer in full time employment.

Through U3A, many people who are approaching retirement find they finally have time to pursue the interests they were never able to indulge in before, and can do so in the convivial company of people much the same age.

Everyone is welcome to come along and view the displays and talk to members of the branch.

The exhibition will be open from Thursday, May 27 until Monday, May 31 from 10am until 4pm, in Red Lion Yard, Okehampton.
