THIEVES struck a plant hire company in Tavistock overnight on Monday/Tuesday, November 24/25 and tens of thousands of pounds worth of equipment was stolen.

Police have said much of the stolen property has been recovered from a location in Plymouth, but there are still some items missing.

These include a Stihl disc cutter, serial number 175395256 and a JCB hydraulic breaker, serial number 2004002.

Items stolen initially included a Takeuchi digger, so police have said a substantial vehicle would have been used to remove the equipment from the premises.

Anyone with information relating to these missing items is asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference number CR/125023/14.
