The community musical ?Trickster? is appearing in West Devon.
Although crime is very low in West Devon, often victims of bogus callers are the elderly and vulnerable with many ?tricks? being used to gain access to their homes.
Trickster gives the audience the skills and the confidence to take control when dealing with a caller. It also encourages greater reporting of any incidents. The play has original music and lyrics, and gives the chance to participate in a ?sing-along?. It puts across crime prevention and a community safety message without raising the fear of crime. The play also encourages the community to look after, and out for, older people.
Performances are: Tuesday, May 18: 10am at the Anchorage Centre, Tavistock and 2pm at the Memorial Hall, Yelverton; and Thursday, May 20: 10am at the Chapel, Hatherleigh and 2pm at the Ockment Centre, Okehampton.
