Red Devils 16 Dodgers 35 TAVISTOCK Netball league continued with two exciting matches last Sunday, the first of which was between Dodgers and Red Devils. Red Devils, who due to sickness were unable to play many of their first choice squad, started the first quarter strongly with every opportunity taken by shooter Melanie Steer to keep the team in contention. It was however, Dodgers who established an early lead, with accurate shooting from both Farrah Higgins (GA) and Anita Gubbin (GS). By the end of the first half, Dodgers were comfortably ahead, and they continued to dominate the game throughout the second half. Nominated players Red Devils Charlotte Meener (C) Anita Gubbin (GS). WWA 47 Blue Angels 10 THE second games saw returning league champions WWA pitted against newcomers Blue Angels. Blue Angels started the game well, however with the strong skills and long established team work of WWA giving them the deserved lead in the first quarter. WWA established a strong lead and excellent defensive play meant opportunities for Blue Angels? shooters were few and far between. Blue Angels never gave up and battled for every ball in the second half, with particular strong centre court play from Blue Angels Becca Hutton and Heidi Brodribb.
