Okehampton Argyle 2

Beacon Knights 4

ANOTHER good performance from an Okehampton team beginning to show their true strengths.

After 40 minutes in the mud, Okehampton were two goals down, and were reminded at half-time to use the wings and avoid the worst of the sticky stuff. A stirring second half followed.

The turning point came at 4-0 down when, after a strong performance, the Okehampton defence was tiring, and Griffiths ran back to tackle a Knights player, denying him a great scoring chance.

Following a foul on Morgan, Evans scored from the free kick. Carter, in goal, put in one of his best performances of the season, and the defensive players started a number of attacking moves, looking for opportunities in midfield and on the wings, rather than opting for long ball play.

With the score at 4-1, Powell moved up to strengthen the Okehampton attack, and a period of pressure resulted in a deserved second goal for Evans.

Man of the match: Richard Eddy.

This Saturday away at Stoke Gabriel.
