Tavistock girls U15s 38
Plymouth Albion and Newquay girls U15s 30
THIS was a true game of two halves. Tavistock started well with high intensity in defence resulting in countless turnovers — notably from Tidball and Upcott.
The score was opened by Credicott who took advantage of a poor Albion kick to go over in the corner for her debut try.
It was apparent that Tavistock were able to get themselves out of trouble through their superior ability to kick well down the slope.
McCall did not only have a 100% conversion record, but punted well down field for Dawe and Merriott to chase with high success. From this Upcott and Rodgers also crossed bringing the halftime score to 28 -5.
The second half was a different affair for Tavistock who were against all elements. Albion hit back with four unanswered tries due to Tavistock's high penalty count at the breakdown. This rifled Tavistock however and good spirit was shown in defence to turn over ball, in particular player of the match Dawe who made three try saving tackles.
Further tries came from skipper Huntley and Dawe.
