NOMINATION packs for prospective candidates who would like to stand for the forthcoming borough, town and parish council elections on May 5 are now available.

The packs can be collected from West Devon Borough Council's offices at Kilworthy Park, Tavistock, sent out by post by contacting the elections office by email or calling 01822 813665. The completed nominations can be returned to the Tavistock offices during normal office hours from March 24 until noon on April 4.

The May 5 elections include a national referendum on the voting system for UK parliamentary elections. If you have moved into the area in the last few months or changed address, you may need to register. If you have already registered to ensure you have a vote for election day contact the council on 01822 813665 for a claim form, complete it, and send it back by no later than Thursday, April 14. If you would like a postal vote you can do this by, again, contacting the same number for an application form, completing it, and sending it back by the deadline which is 5pm on Thursday April 14.
