'ROGER and the Golden Swede' is the title of a brand new pantomime by Stoke Climsland Amateur Theatrical Society, being performed in the village hall this month.

For many years, all the creatures of the village have dwelt in peace in the woods and fields but little do they know that their tranquil existence is about to be shattered by the arrival of cash-hungry property developer Lord Larkspur, who has few morals but definite plans for new development.

Together with his assistants, Elf and Safety, Lord Larkspur sets about changing the face of the village forever.

However, he has not counted upon the animals rising against him, led by Dame Daphne Dewdrop and Roger the Ranger with — naturally — a most cunning plan or two — but who will succeed and who will be vanquished?

There will be lots of fun to be had along the way, plenty of music and dance and the opportunity for everybody to take part, prizes to be won and games to play.

Performances are on February 20, 21, 27 and 28 with matinees at 2.30pm each Saturday.

Tickets are available from Stoke Climsland Post Office.
