SATISH Kumar, whose 'Earth Pilgrim' documentary about Dartmoor has been viewed by more than three million people, is teaming up with a new walking business to offer a special day out on the moor in early August.
The funds raised will go to Devon Wildlife Trust to support their work preserving biodiversity and habitat on Dartmoor.
The event was inspired by a conversation between Satish and Inga Page, who worked together at Schumacher College in Dartington for 17 years.
Inga said: 'When I left the college to set up Dartmoor Walks This Way I told Satish that I'd love to design a walk that introduces him to an area of the moor that's new to him. He loved the idea, and we decided to open it up to the public in aid of a charity which helps to keep Dartmoor the special place it is.'
The walk will take place near Burrator, exploring an area that is rich in history, atmosphere and natural beauty.
Sites to be visited include some of Europe's best Bronze Age remains at Drizzlecombe, ruined mines and farm enclosures and a cave.
The walk takes place on August 2 and costs £25.
Participants need to be able to walk about eight miles over ground that will be uneven or boggy in some places.
