A MAN from Tavistock has been selected as a winner after his picture was selected for the NHS Northern, Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group's Picture Your Health competition.

David Rogers, from Tavistock, entered his picture of his family enjoying a day out on Dartmoor, which took fourth place in the competition.

More than 70 entries were received and from that the judging panel managed to choose four outstanding photos as the winners.

Mr Rogers said: 'The inspiration was delight in the magic of that special place on Dartmoor, a shared experience for extended family members.'

The judges looked at how well people interpreted the theme, which was the CCG's vision of 'Healthy people, living healthy lives, in healthy communities', when picking their top four.

One of the judges, Dr Alex Degan, a GP from Devon and CCG board member, said: 'We liked the sense of family in this photograph. Everybody has got together to enjoy the great outdoors.'

The four winning pictures will feature in the 2014/15 NHS NEW Devon CCG annual report.

First place went to Anna Lord, Plymouth; second, Anna Wheeler, Exmouth; third, Simon Horn, Woodbury.
