STEVE Sage of North Devon Wheelers cycle club achieved his second personal best of the season last Thursday in Tamar Cycle Club?s 10 mile time trial at Sourton.

In the blustery conditions that did not really promise fast times Steve improved by 18 seconds to 21:26, his time was also good enough for third place overall behind Team Alcan?s Greg Sandy and Gary Fouracres (St Austell Wheelers).

This weekend Steve will be hoping for an improvement in his 50 mile time to try and consolidate his second place overall in the South West Best All Rounder competition. Wheeler Ray Retter will be in Lancashire defending his national veterans 12 hour time trial title that he won last year.
