U15s Palladium Cricket League

Tavistock U15s v

Plymouth Peverell U15s

TAVISTOCK won the toss and elected to bowl first. Henry Kisby and Louis Ferguson opened the bowling for Tavistock and both bowled well but were unlucky to come up against two batsmen in attacking mode.

A bowling change brought a wicket as Freddie Jayarajah produced a good spell which resulted Pavvi Mawalage being caught at mid-wicket.

Plymouth continued to attack the Tavistock bowlers but Aidan Mason managed to slow the visitors run-rate down a little by picking up three wickets and Plymouth ended their innings on 138 for 4 of 20 overs.

Tavistock did not get off to the best of starts losing one of their opening batsmen in the second over. Freddie Jayarajah came to the crease and he batted sensibly against a strong bowling attack.

Tavistock lost a further wicket and Kisby joined Jayarajah and the two batted well and put on 30 runs before Jayarajah hit an inside edge on to his stumps. Kisby continued to bat well for Tavistock and with wickets being lost at regular intervals only he and Charlie Huish offered any resistance.

Kisby was finally dismissed for good knock of 32 and Huish was left on 15 not out as Tavistock ended their innings on 85 for 9 of 20 overs. Plymouth's leg spinner Pavvi Mawalage finished with bowling figures of 4-2-10-5. Plymouth won the game by 53 runs.

U15 Palladium Cricket League Cup-semi final

Tavistock U15s v Tideford Eagles U15s

TAVISTOCK lost the toss and were asked to bowl first. Henry Kisby and Louis Ferguson opened the bowling and it was Ferguson who made the breakthrough in the second over when Rhys Davies produced a quick stumping to dismiss the opening batsmen.

Kisby then picked up a wicket himself dismissing Snowdon lbw. Ben Kitt-Osbourne continued to hold Tideford's batting together.

Freddie Jayarajah and Mikey Cousens were then introduced in the attack and Jayarajah picked up a wicket courtesy of a Rhys Davies stumping. Mikey Cousens then went on to produce a superb display of pace bowling which resulted in him picking up four wickets for just ten runs off four overs.

Jamie Stephens then dismissed the dangerous Kitt-Osbourne again after Rhys Davies produced a sharp stumping. Aidan Mason also picked up a wicket and Tideford were finally all-out for 88.

Tavistock opened the batting with Jesse Sandhis and Freddie Jayarajah and both batted well and wasted no time in chasing down the runs they required with Jayarajah in particular playing some delightful shots.

Jayarajah was the first to go after being well caught behind off the bowling of Court.

Tom Cummins then wasted no time in attacking the Tideford bowlers and with ten overs of the game left Tavistock reached the total they required with Sandhis 21 not out and Cummins 22 not out.

Tavistock won the game by nine wickets and now take their place in the league cup-final.
