CONSERVATION and recreation charity South West Lakes Trust will be running several coppicing courses over the next few weeks. Open to all, the courses offer the opportunity to learn a traditional woodland management skill at either Roadford Lake or Burrator Reservoir. The first course will be at Roadford Lake on Sunday November 25 followed by Wednesday November 28 and Sunday December 9 at Burrator. Each course is £10 per person (participants must be over 16) and booking is essential on 01566 771930. To take part you will need to bring stout footwear, waterproof clothing and your own refreshments. There is also a second hedge-laying course at Roadford Lake on Sunday December 2 and there a few spaces left for anyone interested in this skill.
