BOTTOM side Con C ground out their first win of the season at the West Devon Club against their C Team in the Tavistock Snooker League.
Skipper Jago set the tone by overcoming WD's Shrimpton in the first of several close encounters. West Devon bounced back with Williams providing an unlikely superb high scoring win over Bassett. Hoare put the Con's noses in front again as he found some long overdue form to take out Decieco.
The deciding frame went to the Con's with Craze coming of age to take a 'black ball' game and squeeze past last weeks big break man Elliott. Pete Rich pulled the losing margin back to one frame with an important win over Con's Toby Jago and with it kept WD one point above Con C at the base of the table
Con A had to break down a spirited defence from Con Z to run out eventual 4 – 1 winners in a keenly contested match.
The A Team's Evans took a while to shake off a tenacious Jankowski but ultimately proved stronger in the last furlong.
Next up Cook and Symons slugged it out in an open display of potting, with Cook clinching it with the last two colours.
Lacey made it three for the A Team with a dominant win over McKechnie with the latter finding it hard to get going. Dodd showed that the A Team would not have it all their own way with a sound win over Folley, controlling the game and keeping Folley under the cosh from start to finish.
Carruthers made it four for the A Team with a controlled game over Morton who was unable to match the Carruthers fire power despite a couple of nice visits to the table himself.
