WEST Devon and Torride MP Geoffrey Cox is making his Christmas Eve visits this week.
Mr Cox has been to local nursing homes as well as community hospitals in Holsworthy, Torrington and Tavistock in order to thank staff for their hard work, during a season when most people are relaxing and enjoying the company of family, and to also wish patients who are also away from their loved ones his best wishes.
He said: 'I look forward to my Christmas visits every year because it is a chance for me to meet the hard working people in our hospitals who are responsible for making Christmas as joyous as possible for those who without such support may not feel a part of the celebrations.
'I cannot thank them enough for the hard work and good spirit they give not only at Christmas, but throughout the year.'
