I WAS pleased to see Cllr Dave Weeks' letter in your issue for November 6, about the proposed shop scheme for Exbourne.

At a time of great financial stringency, both national and local, it seems very foolish to promote this plan, which also has a number of, as yet, unresolved planning issues.

As Cllr Weeks says, the present arrangement of using the village hall twice a week is extremely successful, thanks ot the hard work of volunteers.
