'WE'RE better together' — that is the message being promoted by Christian Aid in the run up to its Christian Aid Week 2011.

An exciting day of workshops, presentations and coffee will be held in Okehampton on Thursday February 10 as part of the 'Better Together' tour, helping existing and potential supporters discover more about the valuable work done by Christian Aid in countries such as Nicaragua, Ghana, India and Cambodia.

Two events will be taking place on the day. The first, which will include a number of workshops and activities, is in the Charter Hall, Market Street, between 2.30pm and 4pm.

The second, which will include presentations and stories on the work of the charity around the world, will take place in the Ockment Centre between 7.30pm and 9pm.

Both events will also feature music, videos and refreshments, and are free to attend. No booking is required.

Laura McAdam, regional co-ordinator for Devon and Cornwall said: 'This is a chance for us to thank those who have worked tirelessly for justice, and to inspire all who come with stories of hope.

'Whether you are a seasoned house-to-house collector, long-term supporter or someone completely new to Christian Aid, this is a fantastic opportunity to find out more information about the work done by the charity.'
