THIS was an open game of hockey with both sides creating chances.
Okehampton scored early on with a skilful combination move between Jo Moppett and Kelly Cooper.
But they took their foot off the pedal and defended too deeply, allowing Paignton to come forward. Sandy Douglas had to make a number of saving clearances as last man.
Columbines are a team that play well pressing forward and it was not long before they went 2-0 ahead when Moppett scored a splendid solo goal.
Paignton took the score to 2-1 but Okehampton hit their stride and took control of the game.
Sue Stanbury?s long pass set up the forwards for scoring chances, and she had her own contribution to the tally sheet when her strong shot hit the back of the net.
Sharon Stephens had to be alert in goal and was called on to make several important saves. Judith Grant at right back also had a solid game, as did Jane Jones at left half.
This week Okehampton have another friendly, away at Teignmouth.
