BEAMINSTER put Okehampton under pressure with some early short corners but the home side steadily got into the game with Netty Collett and Jane Jones battling hard to win the ball in midfield.
The balance of play in the first half was down the left and it was left wing Beth Stephens who opened the scoring with a fine push past the Beaminster goalkeeper.
Okehampton continued to have the balance of play, but a slight misunderstanding allowed Beaminster to equalise.
The second half saw most of the play down the right with Vicky Taylor having an excellent game at right wing.
The Okehampton front unit created several chances but failed to score and it was Beaminster who broke through the defence to take the lead.
Okehampton kept up the pressure and Viv Weatherington and Vicky Taylor scored in fairly quick succession to give them the lead.
Beaminster piled on the pressure in the last ten minutes, but fine tackling by Carol Chapman and decisive goalkeeping by Paula Gibbs ensured the three points for Okehampton.
Columbines play a league game this week away to Ottery St Mary.
