MAY I, through your paper, express my grateful thanks to all the Tavistock residents and visitors who contributed to the Army Benevolent Fund?s collection which was held in Tavistock on August 25. A total of £921 was collected which is a considerable increase over last year. May I offer my thanks to those who generously donated, and of course to the willing volunteers who gave their time to make the collection possible. The Army Benevolent Fund is the Army?s national charity committed to the welfare of soldiers, former soldiers and their families in time of real need. During 2004/05, the charity made 2,500 grants to individuals and families. With your assistance and that of our supporters in Tavistock, the charity will continue to be active and able to help those in need in the years to come. Thank you for all your support.
