DONATIONS amounting to more than £6,000 from The Co-operative's Community Fund have helped four groups in the Tavistock area.

Tavistock Gymnastics Group received £2,000 towards training coaches and new equipment, Kingdon House Community Association were given £1,900 to help with refurbishment of the hall, Odyssey PTA landed £1,500 to help with travel costs of exchange trips,a nd Tavistock Swimming Club were granted £950 to buy new boxes

Lis Spencer, from the Co-operative's membership team for Tavistock, said: 'Because our members own the business, they get a share in any of the profits we make. It's a scheme we're very proud of, not only because it gives us the chance to thank members for shopping with us, but because so many people choose to give something back to local communities.'
