Tavistock A 1
Plymouth GSOB A 2
THIS match was always going to be a close encounter, with both teams sitting one place apart in the middle of the table.
Plymouth Grammar School Old Boys started the brighter with their strong mid field attacking with great pace. Tavistock managed to get into their own rhythm and started moving the ball around with purpose and started creating openings of their own.
The game flowed from end to end. PGSOBs opened the scoring with a superbly taken reverse stick shot that left Osborne with little chance of stopping.
The game continued at pace with both teams creating hassle in the opposing D and Heard and Doney were proving problematic for the visitors' defence.
The equalising goal came from a text book move, with the hard working MacDougal passing back to the sprightly Honey, who picked his target to perfection at the top of the D. Heard shot at goal but the skills of Doney came to the fore when he deflected the ball into the roof of the net.
The second half was much the same tempo but with PGSOBs dominating more of the possession. Tavistock came back into the game but with the structure and passing now absent, they conceded another goal to go behind.
Chances came in the second half as Tavistock fought for the equaliser.
Young Richards saw his skilful shot at goal bravely saved by the keeper; other chances went begging when an open goal was there to be taken but the equalising goal proved elusive.
