FOLLOWING your lead story in last week's paper, I am sure that there will be overwhelming support for the plans to preserve cinema facilities in Okehampton.

When a town is expanding as fast as Okehampton, it needs to acquire more facilities, not to lose the ones which it already has.

Young people in particular complain with some justification that there is not enough for them to do in the town. The best option certainly is for the current cinema to be bought by an purchaser who wants to use it as a cinema, but it is essential that there is still somewhere local for people to go to see films.
