ST PETER'S Church in Lamerton was the venue for a combined concert by The Callington Singers and the Lamerton Handbell Ringers last Friday and a total of £457.33 was raised in aid of the Church Tower Fund.

The choir was accompanied by Simon Brett on the church organ and directed by Graham Williams.

Tessa Hansford gave a solo performance of 'Bist du Bei Mir' by Bach and Linda Evans performed 'Viergin Tutto Amor' by Francesco Durante. In addition Dee Easton and Claire Brown performed the duet 'Stabat Mater' by Pergolessi.

The Lamerton Handbell Ringers gave a memorable performance which included a rendition of the Dambusters theme tune and a demonstration of the 'Queen's Peal'.

The Callington Singers are planning several concerts during the Christmas season, including a carol concert and service at Gunnislake Church on December 18.

The choir meets for rehearsal on Thursday evenings at 7.15 p.m. at Callington Primary School. New members welcome and there are no auditions.
