A LENT course is being run by Tavistock Parish Church every Monday and Thursday for five weeks commencing Monday, February 11. 'Listening to God's Word' is the title of the course — with two meetings held on a Monday and one group held on Thursday. The Rev Michael Brierley said: 'The Lent courses are a really great opportunity to help us stop talking and listen to one another. We can catch up with the talking over the excellent Lent lunches of homemade soup, bread and cheese.' The Lent lunches are being held every Sunday at 12.30pm up to Easter, excluding Mothering Sunday. The groups will be held at various venues, so for more information or to book a place, contact the parish church office on 01822 616673 for more information. l A special marriage service at Tavistock Parish Church is being staged this Saturday at 3pm. Couples who were married at St Eustachius are being invited back for the special marriage celebration held during National Marriage Week. There will be an opportunity during the service for couples to renew and re-affirm their wedding vows if they wish, and afterwards there will be a celebration cake and a glass of wine to enjoy.
