THE parish churches of Tavistock and Gulworthy are looking forward to two services this Sunday to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

At St Eustachius' in Tavistock, the 9.45 am service will feature an address by the parish priest, the Rev Michael Brierley, as well as special prayers, and will conclude with the national anthem.

The service will be followed by an open-air picnic in the churchyard, to which parishioners can bring their lunches.

In the evening, Tavistock parishioners are invited to join the special service of thanksgiving at St Paul's, Gulworthy, at 6.30 pm, which will bring to a close the festival of flowers and bridal dresses being held in that church over the weekend in honour of the jubilee.
