SEVEN members of Tavistock AC competed in the Plymouth Hoe ten-mile road race.
Senior lady Nicole Heryet achieved a creditable 1h21m06s. on her debut at this distance. The first Tavistock runner to finish was male vet Chris Eastaugh who beat the 70-minute barrier to finish 118th.

IN their best turnout to date, 22 members of Tavistock AC competed in the Bideford Half Marathon.
Steve Groombridge in 18th place was the most successful of the men while Nicole Heryet, still a relative newcomer to racing, was the first Tavistock woman home and the 13th overall. Steve also achieved third place award in the Vets 45 age group.
The Devon County Half Marathon Championships were incorporated into this race, bringing more success for Tavistock athletes. Mike Lewis won the 55-year age group, with Keith Bowles finishing third, and Steve Groombridge was second in the 45-year men.
Twelve of the Tavistock runners were members of the club?s jogging section. For several it was their first attempt at a half marathon and some of them will be running the London Marathon in April.
