ASCENSION Day was celebrated in style this year as children from Tavistock Methodist Church's kids club Sunday S:CAPE took part in a prayer balloon launch.

Celebrating when Jesus ascended to heaven 40 days after Easter, the children attached prayers to helium balloons and launched them into the sky. They also played games and learned the importance of ascension while looking forward to Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit ten days later.
