Caught-short visitors were in for a shock . . .

A NEW toilet block in Market Street, Okehampton, has been mistaken for an electricity sub-station!

Cllr Joan Pauley was approached by two visitors recently who were on the search for somewhere to spend a penny.

'When they asked me where the toilets were and I pointed to them, they said they thought it was an electricity sub-station,' said the West Devon Borough councillor who was amused by the remark.

Cllr Pauley, a campaigner for more public toilets in Okehampton, has passed on the need for better signage to an officer from the borough council.
