St Andrew's Church, Whitchurch, is making a film of the Nativity to celebrate Christmas.
Starring local children, the film will be a series of simple scenes, telling the Christmas story of Jesus's birth in Bethlehem.
Filming will take place on December 9 between 10 am and 12.30 pm at a local farm. The film will then be professionally edited and shown on Christmas Eve at the 5.30 pm Crib Service at St Andrew's Church.
Casting is under way and anyone who would like their child to take part is asked to contact the Rev Andrew Williams on 01822 611167.
He has already signed up 30 children aged two to 11, many of them from Whitchurch Sunday Club and their friends from around the area, and said he could probably take around another dozen.
The film is expected to consist of five scenes of four or five minutes' length, which will be used separately during the Crib Service. Copies are to be made available on video from Christmas Eve.
Roger Leeslow, a technical expert from Western Cine Video in Exeter, has been recruited to help make and edit the film.
