TAVISTOCK Lions Club is looking for more playgroups and pre-school groups to apply for grants from the proceeds of a darts marathon.
A club spokesman said six applications had been received following an article in the Times, but more were invited.
The marathon was held last year, with 100 darts players throwing darts for two hours. A total of almost £1,900 was raised by the teams, which is available for distribution among voluntarily-run play groups and pre-school groups.
The area covered includes Sourton to the north, Princetown to the east, Buckland Monachorum to the south and the River Tamar to the west.
Organisers of groups are invited to write to the Lions Club chairman with their request for a grant, with an explanation as to what the money will be used for.
Letters should be sent to Eric Portman, Sunnyside, 240 Whitchurch Road, Tavistock, PL19 9EF, to arrive by January 31.
