Okehampton Columbines 5 Dawlish 3 THIS was more comfortable for Okehampton than the scoreline suggests. They were by far the more organised team and used the width of the pitch better than their opposition. Columbines played some good hockey and passed quickly and accurately. Sarah Toms and Caroline Friend both battled hard and supported their forwards well in attack. Okehampton took every opportunity to press forward, with the slick interplay between Jo Moppett and Jo Stephens on the wing causing the Dawlish defence considerable problems. Okehampton went 2-0 up early on, but conceded a goal in the dying minutes of the first half. Viv Weatherington completed her hat trick in the second half and Jo Moppett completed the scoring with two well-taken goals after strong runs from the halfway line. But Columbines were guilty of lapses in concentration and were caught on the break several times. Carol Taylor made some important saves in goal to ensure Okehampton had the win they deserved.
