TAVISTOCK Carnival Week is now well underway and on behalf of the Lions Club, I would like to thank all those who have supported us so far especially those committed jazz fans who braved the rather damp weather conditions at Jazz at the Bridge last Saturday. This coming Saturday sees the climax of the week with the all day fair in Bedford Square plus your last chance to buy tickets for the Carnival draw which has many superb prizes. As usual, the Carnival procession will assemble in Down Road from 4pm onwards and will follow its normal route down to the Square where it will turn left into Plymouth Road, then right at Drake?s Statue then right again through Ford Street and West Street finally turning right again to go in front of the Town Hall after which it will then disperse. Inevitably it will mean some disruption to traffic flow as Down Road will be closed in an upwards direction from 4pm and totally closed from 5pm until 7pm and other roads will be closed as necessary as the procession passes through. We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience that these closures may cause but hope that you will bear with us for the short time involved and enjoy what we know will be an excellent spectacle.
