IN time honoured tradition childcare students from Duchy College Stoke Climsland made and sold cakes for Children in Need, both on campus and in Tavistock.
Those who baked for Pudsey are all second year children’s play, learning and development students and they raised a superb £315.
Laetitia Mayne, team lead for children, schools and families, Duchy College said: ‘The students did a raffle, cake sale and guess the sequins on Pudsey’s scarf. The public were very generous and we love getting involved in this charity as our courses include working with children aged 0-8 years.’
The students, who normally take part in the ‘live’ BBC broadcast were unable to attend this year, as it was staged in Jersey. However the enthusiasm and dedication to raise money remained and they created a lively and colourful addition to the town’s streets.
In addition to the second year students, level one students also raised £48 as part of a separate cake sale on campus.
